Mala Forever is an award-winning, women-run film and digital studio based in LA and NYC.

We develop and produce films, new media, and commissioned work that centers unheard voices. We are redefining the future of filmmaking through equitable production practices, and our growing community-based platform is a cultural hub for the radical femme revolution.

Films

We develop, package, and produce feature-length and short narrative and documentary films, as well as episodic television content that uplifts and honors our community through the power of story.

Digital

We provide a consistent source of entertaining and impactful new media that matters to radical femmes (and the people who love us). In doing so, we build an engaged digital community and sustainable platform for emerging creators.

Commissioned

We collaborate with brands, organizations and influencers to create mission-driven content that aligns with our community values and is relevant to our audience.

Our Team

Jessie Levandov

Co-Founder & Director
Brooklyn, NY

Jessie Levandov is an award-winning filmmaker, creative director, and educator. Her recent film Baby was awarded the Grand Jury Prize for Best Narrative Short at Outfest Film Festival. Her queer documentary series Signified was presented by the Guggenheim Lab, and her short film The Greggs won the Spirit Award at Slamdance. Her work has been presented in cultural spaces such as the Brooklyn Museum, Museum of Fine Arts Boston, and The Leslie Lohman Museum of Gay and Lesbian Art and featured in publications such as Teen Vogue, Huffington Post and Them. Jessie is committed to storytelling as a tool for social justice, and served as the longtime program director of Youth Documentary Workshop at New York’s Educational Video Center. She received her BFA in Film and Television Production from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and is based in New York City.

Nina Reyes Rosenberg

Nina Reyes Rosenberg is a countercultural filmmaker and creative director whose work is grounded in her point of view as a mixed-race first-generation Mexican-American and Jewish woman. Her feature-length screenplay La Paz was a finalist for the 2017 Latino Screenwriting Project; her short films, Organism and Invisible Men, have won press and played at festivals around the world including Outfest, Frameline, and HBO: New York Latino Film Festival. As a producer and content strategist, Nina rapidly grew Change.org’s engagement to over 600,000 views per video and won a Davey Award for Best Online Video Advertising for her work at viral video agency Portal A. Born and raised in San Francisco, she holds a BFA in Film and Television Production from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, and is based in Los Angeles.
